or using the App on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, you agree to the
data practices described below. Please read this policy carefully before signing in.

ePanicApp is a workplace safety and emergency-alert application published by
ePanic Button. We collect account, profile, device, and alert-related information
to authenticate you and deliver safety notifications to your organization. We do
not sell your personal information and do not use your data for third-party
advertising or cross-app tracking.

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to ePanicApp (the "App"), operated by ePanic Button ("we," "us," or "our").
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal
information when you use the App on iOS and Android devices.

ePanicApp enables authorized users within an organization to send and receive
emergency and safety alerts. Because the App handles identity, device, and
location-related information, we are committed to being transparent about our
data practices.

Organization accounts: If your employer or organization ("Organization") provisioned
your account, your Organization may have separate policies governing employee data.
Organization administrators may manage profile fields, alert buttons, and access
permissions on your behalf.

For Organization-managed accounts, your Organization may act as an independent or
joint controller for certain employee data. Contact your Organization administrator
for workplace-specific questions.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information necessary to operate a workplace safety alert service.
Depending on how you use the App, this may include:

Information you or your Organization provide:
- Phone number — used to authenticate and sign in to your account;
- Profile details — name, email, department, and location label;
- Profile photo — only if you voluntarily take or upload a photo;
- Alert content — button selected, alert title, message, and severity when you send an alert.

Information collected automatically:
- Authentication tokens — access and refresh tokens to maintain your secure session;
- Device identifiers — machine GUID, client GUID, node ID, and user ID;
- Push notification tokens — FCM (Android) or APNs (iOS) tokens registered with our servers;
- Location data — latitude, longitude, and location label when you send an alert and grant permission;
- Alert logs — history of alerts received, stored on your device and our servers;
- Widget preferences — your selected home-screen alert button;
- Technical logs — IP address, timestamps, and diagnostic data for security and reliability.

advertising or cross-app tracking.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use personal information for the following purposes:
- Authenticate you and maintain your session, including automatic token refresh;
- Deliver emergency and safety alerts to authorized recipients in your Organization;
- Register your device and send push notifications for alerts and acknowledgments;
- Include your location with an alert when you have granted permission;
- Support home-screen widgets that open the App or send a configured alert;
- Detect unauthorized access, fraud, and misuse of the service;
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process data based on contract performance,
legitimate interests, your consent (for optional features), or legal obligation.

DEVICE PERMISSIONS

The App may request the following permissions. You can change these in your device
Settings at any time. Denying a permission may limit related features but will not
block unrelated functionality.

- Notifications — deliver incoming alerts and account updates in the background;
- Location (When In Use) — attach your location when you send an alert;
- Camera & photo library — only when you choose to update your profile photo;
- Internet — required to communicate with ePanic Button servers;
- Vibration & audio — play alert sounds for critical notifications.

We do not require you to enable notifications or location to open the App. However,
disabling notifications will prevent real-time safety alerts from being delivered.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The App uses trusted third-party services to operate core features:
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notification delivery on Android;
- Apple Push Notification Service — push notification delivery on iOS;
- ePanic Button API — authentication, profiles, and alert routing (epanicbutton.com);
- Expo / React Native — application framework for iOS and Android builds.

We do not integrate advertising SDKs, social media tracking SDKs, or cross-app
analytics tools used for ad targeting. These providers process data on our behalf
and must protect it consistently with this policy.

HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

We share personal information only as needed to operate the service:
- Your Organization — account, profile, and alert data may be visible to authorized administrators;
- Service providers — cloud hosting and push delivery partners who process data on our behalf;
- Legal requirements — when required by law or to protect safety and security;
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger or acquisition, subject to continued protection.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their
marketing or advertising purposes.

DATA RETENTION & ACCOUNT DELETION

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the App, maintain
alert logs required for safety and compliance, resolve disputes, and meet legal
obligations. Retention periods may also be set by your Organization's agreement
with ePanic Button.

Deleting your account

In accordance with Apple App Store and Google Play requirements:
- Sign out: Go to Profile → Log Out to end your session and clear local data on your device;
- Full deletion: Email contact@epanicbutton.com with your phone number and Organization name,
  or contact your Organization's administrator;
- Timeline: Verified deletion requests are processed within 30 days, unless law or your
  Organization's retention obligations require longer.

Alert records may be retained by your Organization for safety, legal, or compliance
purposes even after your account is deactivated.

DATA SECURITY

We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted transmission (HTTPS/TLS),
token-based authentication with automatic refresh, and access controls for
Organization administrators. Session data is stored on your device. No method of
transmission or storage is 100% secure; you are responsible for keeping your
device secure.

TRACKING & ADVERTISING

ePanicApp does not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising
purposes. The App does not display third-party advertisements and does not share
data with advertising networks. The native App does not use browser cookies.

YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data;
- Restrict or object to certain processing;
- Request a portable copy of your data;
- Withdraw consent for optional features via device settings;
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know, access, correct, and
delete personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for
cross-context behavioral advertising.

To exercise your rights, email contact@epanicbutton.com. We will verify your identity
before processing requests.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

ePanicApp is intended for authorized adults in workplace settings. It is not directed
to children under 13 (or under 16 in certain EU jurisdictions), and we do not
knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a
child has provided us data.

INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Our services may be hosted on servers located outside your country of residence.
When we transfer personal information internationally, we implement appropriate

provide notice through the App or your Organization. Continued use of the App after
changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
