Trial Process Overview

Log into Admin portal to obtain .exe install program and install on at least 2 computers.

Configure receivers for the buttons and test messaging.

Determine the number of licenses (# of workstations to be installed) and request a full subscription.

Detail of Install Process

Users are created by installing the program on the workstations and filling out the profile window.

There are broadly two components:

1- client program that installs on the computers for it to send and receive messages and

2- the admin portal dashboard where you manage users and buttons.

*IMPORTANT NOTE:  .NET Framework 4.7 or above required for the installation program.

STEP 1

Login to Administrative Portal:      https://prod.epanicbutton.com

Login with the username that we sent you; default password is eP@nic123

You must change your password (in right column)

Length must be greater than or equal to 8
Contain one or more uppercase letter
Contain one or more lowercase letters
Contain one or more numeric values
Contain one or more special characters, i.e. @ # $ %

DOWNLOAD THE INSTALL .exe FILE FROM DOWNLOAD ICON ON THE LEFT.

You will use this install client for all of your installations for your organization.

If updating from a previous version, uninstall first from the Control Panel – Uninstall program window, then delete any residual folders including the programfiles(x86)/epanicbutton and the c:programdata/epanicbutton folders. Then install the latest version.

STEP 2 – Create Users by Installing the Program

Users (Senders and Desktop Alert Receivers) are created by installing the program on their computers.

Run the .exe file on every workstation that you want to send from and to receive the desktop, pop up alerts. You don’t need the program to receive emails, calls or sms text.

Click through the installation prompts and wait for it to fully install.

After complete, click Finish.

Next, enter your Registration ID (a long string of characters), which you can copy by clicking the copy icon on the right. It is also listed on the Accounts Tab.

You should see a “connected message” and then a blank profile window will pop up.  Fill in the User Information Window.

The epanic sending client (red icon) and alert receiver (white icon) will appear in the notification tray by your clock area.

Check for the new User to be created on the Users Table on the Admin Portal (more below).

If errors, do not install from a Network Drive but copy file directly onto the station (desktop, download folder, etc.) Reboot may be necessary along way if window prompts do not appear.

TIPS

User” is associated with the workstation, regardless of who is logged in.

First and last name can also be general designation such as Lobby Receptionist.

Location can be a room number or name of physical space such as “Library.”

STEP 3 – Test Sending / Install on another station

Test sending messages; install on another station to test sending/receiving the desktop, pop up alerts (cannot sent these to yourself).

Emails, voice calls and sms text can be sent to anyone and do not require the program to be installed on these receivers.

Edit your receivers for each button on the Buttons Tab (far right column on the Button table).  Every button has its own list of desktop alerts, email, sms text and voice calls receivers.

Test by activating the button (let them know that you are just testing!)

Mouse over the red icon in the notification tray to click a button or use the hotkey shortcut

TIP:

Using the phone apps, designate a unique ring tone or notification by creating an epanicbutton contact on the phone.  That way, the receiver will know it is an ePanicbutton message coming in.

STEP 4 – Configure your Settings

Click User Tab to view users that have been added by installing the program.

Click Groups Tab to create additional Groups if desired. Groups just determine the set of buttons of its members. You can send to anyone, regardless of group.

Click Buttons Tab to add/edit/delete Buttons. Change the messages. Choose receivers for desktop alerts, email, voice call and SMS text messages. Create some test buttons, make some groups,

Default has one group and 2 buttons: Security and Support
Edit or delete as desired; ePanicButton is completely customizable according to your needs!

Trouble Shooting

If attempting to reinstall, please wipe the station first.

Uninstall from Control Panel
Delete programfiles(x86)/epanicbutton and the c:programdata/epanicbutton folders
Reinstall with latest version.

You need .net framwork 4.7 or above.
